In the tradition of our favorite “Dad”\, founder\, Gene Ventimiglia\, we will offer complimentary bottles of wines from the family wine cellar. These bottles were purchased from wineries of New Jersey\, Virginia\, Connecticut\, Colorado\, California\, & New York. For each guest who buys 3 bottles of our wines\, we will give a 750mL bottle from the private collection. (You choose white or red\, we give a “blind bottle” grab-bag style!) \nIn addition\, we will taste our 2002 Fratelli Ventimiglia Cabernet Franc along with the tasting of our current wine selections. Anyone who purchases a case of wine this weekend will receive a complimentary bottle of that 2002 special reserve (while supplies last). \nWe will serve finger snacks complimentary to the wine tasting. \nWe are truly thankful for the good friends we have made over the years\, and all the new friends who keep joining us. Our 50-acre farm is a marvelous place to spend an afternoon\, and everybody seems happy to be here! Plan to take a hike in our wooded trails; pack a picnic or order from Anabelle’s for delivery. DESCRIPTION:This terrific event is back!  We are happy to be participating and selling our wines at this festival!\n \nSussex County Harvest\, Honey & Garlic Festival\nOctober 29\, 2022 from 10am – 4pm\nThe 11th annual Sussex County Harvest\, Honey and Garlic Festival will be held at the Sussex County Fairgrounds\, 37 Plains Road\, Augusta\, NJ\, 07822\, on October 29\, 2022\, from 10am – 4pm. The Festival is a celebration of agritourism\, ecotourism and arts & heritage tourism. The County of Sussex\, the Sussex County Beekeepers Association and the Garden State Garlic Growers are joining with the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show to showcase New Jersey’s great northwest. \nWe’ll have a farmers market where you can buy fresh\, local Sussex County products like fruit\, vegetables\, cheese\, wine and more. The Sussex County Beekeepers Association will have educational displays and materials along with an array of honey products. For those who love all things garlic\, you’ll have plenty to choose from with the Garden State Garlic Growers. The Festival will include local artisans\, crafters and vendors plus displays highlighting northern New Jersey’s great open spaces and natural history. For kids there’ll be a hay ride\, pumpkin painting\, face painting and crafts. \nThe Sussex County Harvest\, Honey and Garlic Festival is a free\, family event. SUMMARY:Wine Tasting & Pig Roast by Rodrigo Duarte
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to welcome our neighbor\, Rodrigo Duarte\, who will be bringing some of his very rare\, Portuguese pigs to live on our pasture lands and on our “hood lands” (wooded grazing areas near the open pastures). The pigs enjoy eating nuts and acorns which adds to the marvelous flavors of this highly regarded meat. Rodrigo\, a Portuguese immigrant farmer who has imported Iberian Hogs\, is now producing Portuguese Charcuterie. Manuel Rodrigo (call him “Manny“) will also be providing a Pig Roast on our farm on Saturday\, October 22 (with a rain-date on Sunday\, October 23).  Read more about Manny in Edible New Jersey!  Also\, this is the family shop in Newark\, “Caseiro e Bom” with lots of info on the meats and on the owner\, Rodrigo Duarte. \nAlso\, dessert will be offered from The Farmer’s Daughter. \nOur neighbor’s rare\, grey-colored Portuguese pigs are happily grazing in our woodlands. Guests are welcome to hike uphill to “meet them”! \nDetails:\nWine Tasting: 11:00 am to 6:00 pm\nPig roast: 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm (Food will be served until 5:30 pm) \nPrices: $25 for food and wine tasting\, $20 for food alone\nTickets: Tickets will be available for purchase at the entrance on that date. The Festival will include local artisans\, crafters and vendors plus displays highlighting northern New Jersey’s great open spaces and natural history.
